Who are you?
I've got one of those counters for visits to this blog... 61 visits in a week! Who are you lurking silent ones? Reveal yourselves - don't be shy - I'd love to meet you.
A week late but anyhoo. I'm a local too, near West Marrickville primary. Like Lynne I'm learning a lot, its a place of such amazing richness. Kinda embarrassing how little of it I've sought out though. I do it vicariously through Marrickvillia.
I try to avoid the evil Woolworths, especially as almost everything they sell can be found in the locally-owned shops along Illawarra Rd. But sometimes I can be seen late at night in the Woolies 12 items or less queue, in my badly-disguised pyjamas (put ugg boots and a jacket over the top), clutching a block of dark Lindt chocolate.
I've just recently discover the world of blogs and I'm so proud of Marrickville, considering it my hometown, though I only moved up from Melbourne at the start of the year. ps. Marrickvillian sounds so awesome! John Mac, Grove Street
I'm another Marrickvillian, down near Addison Road. Been here for years but I am learning lots from your blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne,
ReplyDeletenice to meet you, and do feel free to offer any suggestions for Marrickvillia. Actually I'm thinking about making it a team blog...

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda,
ReplyDeletenice to meet you too! If you visit Danas I might have seen you there...
Ah I used to go to Danas all the time then Bobo's cafe opened near Dulwich Hill station closer to me. So I defected. I still hit the Woolies though.

Dear John Mac,
ReplyDeletewelcome to Marrickville! You have chosen the best place in Sydney to live. I lived at number 1 Grove St many years ago...
Greetings, just popping in. I live down in Melbourne, if I lived in Sydney I'd take a squiz at Grove Street. I'm romantic, enormously sentimental.
ReplyDeletehi RH,
ReplyDeleteWell Melbourne is pretty good, especially if you live in Richmond, which is pretty similary to Marrickville!
Yes, and similar to every other latte strip in foreign-crazed Australia. Fake Parisians, uniformity guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteI came by way of your amusing comment on Candice Ward's poem in Jill Jones' blog. (Hometown: New York City; now in Raleigh, North Carolina, US.)
ReplyDeleteI'm new to the area, I've just moved to Stanmore.
ReplyDeleteexcellent blog!
Hi David & Brett,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have local and international people reading about Marrickville!
